Omedetou Marc!
On May 14, we will be hosting a small celebration for Marc. Marc (warthog1984), a very active member of this group and overall nice guy will be leaving Chicago for a new job in the next few weeks. However, RSVP is full as of today, but you can still leave him well wishes in the forum!

What’s up with the May Meeting?
I’m sure you all are wondering about the next meeting on May 28, 2011. Well, I have something really cool to announce. Elv of Anime Shin Gen and I are working on a collaboration meeting, and we are working out the details. We most likely will be meeting at the Skokie Public Library. I hope to have details up soon!

The JIC, together with the Chicago International Film Festival, is excited to screen the film Shodo Girls for the city of Chicago, free of charge! Shodo Girls tells the story of Satoko, a student of Japanese calligraphy (shodo), who translates her passion for the ancient art into civic pride when she organizes a calligraphy performance contest to revitalize her depression-laden hometown.
