In the past few weeks there have been a lot of cancellations of events, and closures of movie theaters to curb the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. Many events that are on the event calendar may be cancelled or postponed, so I would urge everyone to check with your local event venues and theaters before you head out.
As of right now, we know that the Dragon Ball Symphonic Adventure concert is cancelled, as are many other large scale events.
Conventions Karoshi-Con 2020, Anime Central, Anime Magic 2020 haven’t announced that they have been cancelled, but we will keep everyone up-to date as possible. We are a few months out yet, and gatherings of large quantities are limited only until the first week of May. We just have to see where we are in the next few months and what decision guests and staff are making in order to determine what they are going to do with regards to cancellations.
This is a stressful time for everyone, and we understand the current environment isn’t good of anyone’s mental health.
It’s important to take COVID-19 seriously, and social distance and limit your time in public to help contain the virus and stop the spread. You could be a carrier and not even know it. Even if you have mild symptoms, get checked out by a doctor and self quarantine.
What is good is that there are many anime streaming services now, and they are there when social isolation is the norm. We also have social media and various texting and chat resources/apps to reach out and provide us with support. I encourage everyone who needs to reach out, do so via chat, social media, telephone, or text to friends, family, or someone you trust.
Stay well everyone, and follow the CDC’s recommendations to stay healthy. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html
