There are two new conventions that are in the works for an August debut, right here in the Chicagoland Area!
Anime World Chicago

“AnimeWorld is the newest and best anime convention produced by the team that created Propworx, Hollywood’s Premier Event Auction Company, and a group of passionate, dedicated cosplayers and convention workers from the Midwest. Together we are combining Propworx event expertise with fan passion to create a truly unique event.
We want anime fans to have a fun experience that is neither corporate nor amateurish. An experience that combines great panels, fan-favorite guest stars, thrilling game tournaments, wall-worthy artwork and fully stocked vendors’ hall, with an awesome masquerade with new and exciting ideas that will make AnimeWorld unique.”
Anime Midwest
“Announcing Anime Midwest, a new convention for Chicago!
Likely will be held sometime in August, after dozens of survey responses preferred it to any other time. We hope to announce dates by the end of the month. (You can trust us on this. We have submitted our RFP [Request for Proposal] to four different CVBs [Convention Visitor Bureaus], and we’ll have several places to choose from).
